Sno-Cone Machine
Instructions & Guidelines for Use
1. Warning: Do not operate this machine until you have read and understand these instructions!!
2. Warning: Never put your fingers or any objects into the shaver body while the motor is running!! Since you can be seriously hurt if you disobey these instructions, we do not assume any liability for injury due to careless handling or operation of this equipment.
3. Warning: Do not let children operate this machine. Children must be supervised when around the machine. Be sure they do not put their hands near or in the machine. The same liability statement in #2 above applies here.
4. Warning: Moving knife blades are inside this machine. Keep hands out! Do not allow anything into the ice shoot except ice!
5. To operate: Start the motor and fill the gooseneck with ice cubes or block ice broken into 3” to 4” pieces. Fill to about an inch from the top. The larger the pieces of ice the better the snow. Push the pusher handle down to press the ice against the cutterhead. A firm pressure is all that is required. Sometimes, you may need to relieve the pressure to allow the ice to rearrange itself. Do not force the handle too much, as this will stall the motor.
6. Too much pressure will make the ice come out too coarse; too little pressure makes the ice come out mushy.
7. In normal operation, the motor will get warm. The surface temperature could reach 150 degrees. This is normal.
8. To make flavor syrups: Take a packet of flavor mix, 5 pounds of sugar and enough water to make a gallon. Mix well. (We recommend starting out with less sugar, say 2 lbs. and adding more to taste.)
9. Figure about ½ lb of ice per cone and a maximum of 2 oz of syrup. Scoop ice into individual serving container (we have paper cones available for purchase). Pour flavor syrup on top.
10. To clean: Remove leftover ice from machine. Wipe clean. For syrup dispensers, clean thoroughly in soapy water or in dishwasher.
